The procurement sector has a range of terminologies. You may have seen ‘mini competition’ or ‘further competition’ and wonder what they mean.

This procurement route is designed to give you the ability to test the market to find the most suitable solution to meet your contractual needs.

By outlining specific requirements, a further competition can be an effective way to compliantly procure your next contract. All capable suppliers on the selected framework can be tested on their ability to provide the solution you need for the most competitive price. This can save time compared to a full tender exercise, as suppliers on a framework are already pre-qualified.

What are the benefits of further competitions?

  • Easy documentation
  • Expertise available
  • Saves time for suppliers and buyers

The procurement team is made up of five Procurement Managers, a Senior Procurement Manager, and an Associate Director of Procurement. All opportunities are allocated based on capacity and current workload. Your allocated Procurement Manager will work with you throughout the entire further competition process and support you every step of the way.
